Detailed Itinerary

Day 1 – Arrival in Nairobi, Kenya

Upon arrival at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport, you are warmly welcomed by a private airport representative and assisted through arrival formalities.

A comfortable transfer brings you to the historic Fairmont The Norfolk Hotel, an icon of Kenya’s colonial-era elegance and the traditional starting point of grand safaris.

Day 2 – Into Samburu’s Wild Frontier

After breakfast, depart north toward the equator, passing Nanyuki and the foothills of Mount Kenya. The landscape gradually shifts into the rugged semi-arid beauty of Samburu National Reserve.

Remote and less frequented than Kenya’s southern parks, Samburu is renowned for rare northern species and dramatic scenery along the Ewaso Nyiro River.

Arrive in time for lunch at your tented camp. Afternoon game drive in search of elephant herds, reticulated giraffes, Grevy’s zebra, and big cats.

Day 3 – Samburu National Reserve

An early morning game drive reveals the reserve at its most active, with predators on the move and golden light across the plains.

Return to camp for breakfast and relaxation. After lunch, venture out again for an afternoon safari experience along the riverbanks.

Day 4 – From Samburu to the Aberdare Highlands

After breakfast, journey south into Kenya’s lush central highlands.

Arrive at The Aberdare Country Club for lunch before transferring into Aberdare National Park to The Ark Lodge, uniquely positioned overlooking a floodlit waterhole.

The afternoon is spent quietly observing wildlife drawn to the water — elephant, buffalo, bushbuck, and occasionally leopard — all from the comfort of the lodge.

Day 5 – Rift Valley Lakes & Flamingo Shores

Descend into the Great Rift Valley, pausing at Nyahururu Waterfalls before continuing to Lake Nakuru National Park.

After lunch at the lodge, enjoy a game drive in this compact yet wildlife-rich park, known for rhino conservation and seasonal flamingo gatherings.

Continue onward to Lake Naivasha, arriving in the evening at The Great Rift Valley Lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 6 – To the Masai Mara

After breakfast, drive southwest to the Masai Mara National Reserve — Kenya’s most celebrated wildlife sanctuary.

Arrive in time for lunch at Fairmont Mara Safari Club. In the afternoon, head out across the open plains where vast herds and big cats define the classic African safari image.

Day 7 – The Masai Mara

Optional sunrise hot air balloon safari followed by a champagne-style bush breakfast.

Day 8 – Crossing into Tanzania: Serengeti Awaits

After breakfast, drive to the Isebania border for immigration formalities.

Continue in a Tanzanian safari vehicle into the legendary Serengeti National Park. Picnic lunch en route as the landscape unfolds into endless golden plains.

Afternoon game drive en route to your camp.

Day 9 – The Serengeti Plains

A full day dedicated to exploring the Serengeti ecosystem, home to one of the highest concentrations of wildlife on the continent.

Morning and afternoon game drives allow time to track predators, observe vast herbivore migrations (seasonal), and immerse yourself in the grandeur of the plains.

Day 10 – Serengeti to Ngorongoro Crater

After breakfast, depart for the Ngorongoro Conservation Area.

Continue to the rim of the Ngorongoro Crater, the world’s largest intact volcanic caldera, arriving in time for lunch at Ngorongoro Serena Lodge.
